It’s Friday afternoon –
My hubby sits across from me. We are dining on mango-habanero chicken wings, firecracker shrimp tacos, and chilled glasses of white wine.
“What is the meaning of life?” He asks.
The sun is warming my back, the spice is tingling my tongue and my sweetheart’s question makes me think:
The meaning of life is defined every minute:
The first moment our eyes open in the morning.
The warmth of his flesh next to mine.
The thumping of his heart that he carries in his chest.
The cascading water in the shower.
The floral fragrance of rose oil that moisturize my skin
My lace bralette under my white linen shirt — “the best fabric to keep me cool in the summer,” A dear friend advised — She was right.
The meaning of life is:
Waking for daybreak.
Walking in the rain.
Watching the rainbow.
Noting the moon as it moves across the night sky.
The meaning of life is welcoming:
The mystery of romantic chemistry.
The magic of laughter.
Giggling with your spouse when the kids go off to bed.
Private moments in public spaces.
The meaning of life is this breath.

WHAT I’M READING
I’m several chapters into reading From Scratch: A Memoir of Love, Sicily and Finding Home written by Tembi Locke.
It’s fascinating to read about Italy now that I’ve visited. I can picture some of the meals, places, and nuances of Italian life that Tembi writes about.
I’m looking forward to watching “From Scratch” on Netflix in October.
My hubby, Ontonio Christie, my entrepreneur husband, created this beautiful blog for me. If you or someone you know would like a logo or website designed, check him out at www.Happylifemediagroup.com.
